Beverly Bonner

Beverly Bonner is famous for her role in the Basket Case movies portraying Casey and her role in Frankenhooker. She's not only an actress on the screen but also a theater actress and a comedian! I recently had the pleasure of interviewing her!

1. What was your favorite thing to dress up as for Halloween in childhood?

I was raised by strict and religious grandparents, rare that I went trick or treating or dressed up at Halloween

2. What is your favorite horror movie past and present?

Basket Case.   I also like Exorcist and Carrie because of the realism, you can imagine it really happening.

3. Who are your favorite horror movie actors/actresses?

I’m really not a expert or very knowledgeable on Horror Movie Actors.

4. Is there any particular monster that fascinates you?

The Alien monster.

5. What is your favorite movie you have acted in & why?

Basket Case because of the fun making it, because of the low budget and we all worked hard to keep it going, and because of the fans all over the world it has brought me, because low budget or not it is both a scary and funny movie and because of the wonderful friends I have made and still have from the movie.

6. Who did you idolize as a child?

Johnny Carson, Lucille Ball and Sid Caesar..

7.Which do you prefer theater acting or film acting?

Theater because you get instant audience reaction and every night is different.

8. If you could meet anyone living or dead who would you want to meet and why?

Martin Luther King and Mother Theresa.

9. Do you have any funny stories from filming the Basket Case movies?

Humm, most I can’t share. (Laughs) But my high heels from the film disappeared as well as my red panties, someone on the set has those souvenirs.  (Laughs)

10.What made you get into acting?

I was born to act.  According to my late Aunt Louise, I have been performing since I was 2 years old.  It’s my drug of choice, addicted and destined for it.

11. What do you feel makes a good horror movie?

A Horror Movie that makes you feel that it could actually happen.  Not into the phony movies where the sexy star actress is in a run-down scary house, rain storm, she hears noises and runs in slow motion out of the house into the night where the noises came from. Please!

12. Why do you think that people enjoy being scared?

For some reason they do, yes.  Don’t ask me why.  (Laughs)

13. Any current projects?

My play I wrote, Casey---30 Years Later based on my character in BASKET CASE running at the Broadway Comedy Club in New York City.  It will also be at the Tarmarac Theater in Tarmarac, Florida, May 17th and 18th, 2013.  There is also a web series of this play in development.
I was in Frank Henelotter’s latest movie this Fall (No can’t reveal name.  That means Frank has put me in everyone of his films.)  I’m also in several documentaries, I AM DIVINE (I appeared with the late great Divine in WOMEN BEHIND BARS many years ago.)  Another documentary about Black Female icons in Horror Films, a UK documentary, about BASKET CASE Trilogy and another film, SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY, currently being seen in previews and film festivals.
